To promote economic self-sufficiency through peace and employability for disadvantaged youth.

Vision

To equip youth ages 13-25 years old with essential tools to lead peaceful relationships and succeed in today's workforce. WDGA teaches students how to avert violence, become civic leaders and attract employment opportunities to promote community and economic development.

Overview

The Workforce Development Global Alliance (WDGA) promotes economic self-sufficiency through employment opportunities for tomorrow’s workforce, our youth. Global corporate alliances and awareness provide for education, exposure, empowerment, experience and employment opportunities.

Our Programs

  • The 2Steps2Work Campaign is a two-phased program focusing on conflict resolution training (step 1) and a “school to work” initiative (step 2) and serves as a platform for transforming lives.
  • The Youth Peace Ambassador Program (Step 1) is a comprehensive peace and leadership training curriculum designed to develop young leaders in poor and violent communities with conflict resolution skills. The program promotes activities such as Peace Vigils, Community Days of Peace, and the Peace Tree Planting Initiative that are planned and led by the Youth Council.
  • The Youth Leadership Council / Alumni Network was established for graduates of the 2STEPS2WORK program to become coaches to the current student base as well as co-facilitate the training series and planning of program activities / events.
  • The ePal & eMentoring Programs are part of WDGA’s strategic plan designed to link youth in the USA to Africa who share common struggles and common career goals via a cyber solution eLearning platform. Target launch: 2013.
